Please see below for COVID-19 updates from the school:
At Waverley Public School our students wear their school uniform with pride. Our parents are supportive and endorse the wearing of our school uniform, which assists in maintaining a positive school culture.
Our uniform is deisgned to give the best possible protection from the sun and includes wide brim hats and legionnaire style caps. It is a policy of the school that students wear a school hat during outdoor activities including lunch and recess. Our school lhas adopted a "No hat, play in the shade" policy. During the summer months and on outdoor excursions and sporting days, students are encouraged to use 30+ broad spectrum sunscreen.
Uniforms can be purchased from Wileys Uniforms. There is also a secondhand uniform shop open at school every fortnight organised by the P&C.
Should you have any questions regarding uniform, please contact our school office on 9389 4843 and they will be more than happy to assist.
Waverley Parents and Citizens' Association
At Waverley Public our Parents and Citizens (P&C) Association is formed from enthusiastic and committed of parents who meet on the third Monday of the month during term time.
The P&C’s role is to facilitate cooperation between the parent body, teachers and School management. We aim to create opportunities for parent participation in the School in a wide range of activities. We encourage parent input in issues including the curriculum and other education issues and maintain an open dialogue with the School.
The P&C also provides much needed facilities and equipment through our fundraising activities. Our current fundraising priorities include air-conditioning, an upgrade of sporting equipment and the roll out of iPad technologies across the school.
Other specific P&C activities at the School include:
A weekly Canteen (on Wednesdays) with an emphasis on fresh fruit and home cooked food. Our lunch specials are cooked in-house by volunteers using fresh ingredients.
Markets are once a year in the grounds of the school to raise funds and awareness of the school in the local community.
Liaison with school management in major initiatives including the refurbishment of the school playground, building of the netball court (2008) and working to ensure the School obtains the best outcome from the national stimulus package for schools
Provide assistance at school events including sports carnivals, morning reading groups and excursions.
The opportunities for involvement at the School through the P&C are endless and limited only by the time you as a parent are able to commit.
