Established in 1879 Waverley PS is a Kindergarten to Year Six public school located in the heart of Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs. Situated on Bronte Road, the school is only a short walk from the Bondi Junction precinct and Queen’s Park, a facility well utilised by the school for sport and environmental activities. Our current enrolment is approximately 340 students, with a culturally diverse population. This provides an environment of rich cultures in which students from all different backgrounds can learn and grow. Students are well-behaved, respectful and supportive of each other.
A wide range of engaging programs are offered including dance, debating, band, drama, performing & visual arts, public speaking, sports, Italian, film making and gardening pursuits. An active Learning Support Team closely monitors wellbeing and implements both learning support and enrichment programs. Our school has a strong community focus where staff, parents and the wider community work in partnership.
Waverley PS is fortunate to have spacious grounds, a netball/basketball court, an adventure playground and a climbing wall. A well established, quality before and after school care program accommodates the needs of our many working families. Our school values quality teaching and learning and is involved with the CoSiES (Community of Schools in the Eastern Suburbs) for professional development and support.
